Dare to Lead™ Training

Learn how to be a more courageous leader on a Dare to Lead™ Training Workshop.

Leadership is about the willingness to step up, put yourself out there, and lean into courage.”
Brené Brown –

Dare to Lead™ is a leadership development workshop that will challenge you, your team, and your organisation to dig into courage – personally and collectively. The training gives participants the knowledge, skills and language to transform the way they show up, engage with others, and do their work. Engaging with the content will surprise, stretch and challenge you in ways you never expected.

About The Dare To Lead™ Program

Dare to Lead™ is an empirically based courage-building program, based on the research of Dr. Brené Brown. The programme is designed to help individuals, teams, and organisations move from armoured leadership to daring leadership.

The most significant finding from Brené Brown’s latest research is that courage is a collection of four skill sets that are teachable, measurable, and observable.

As a Certified Dare to Lead™ Facilitator, Dr Nadine Mayers focuses on developing these courage-building skills through workshops, training, and coaching.

Why Courageous Leadership?

We live in a post-heroic leadership context, yet most of our role models still adhere to, and model a heroic leadership style. Dare to Lead™ teaches an alternative leadership style for the post-heroic era and brings participants to greater levels of self awareness about their own armoured/heroic styles, teaches the empirical research and reasons behind taken-for-granted behaviours, and transfers new skills and language to help individuals and teams be more courageous.

Dare to Lead™ is human-centric, purpose-, and productivity driven, and addresses the deep seated challenges of dwindling trust and employee engagement levels (among others) in organisations where tough conversations, creativity and innovation are espoused values, but not necessarily a lived reality.

Why Participate in a Dare To Lead™ Training Workshop?

During the Dare to Lead™ training process, participants will explore their personal call to courage and the arenas where they need to be brave. They will learn:

  • to evaluate their own courageous/armoured behaviour
  • how to have tough conversations with themselves and others
  • gain a better understanding of their own and other’s voluntary/involuntary behaviour
  • explore how they can show up and lead wholeheartedly
  • gain a better understanding of the culture and leadership dynamics of their organisation/team/family
  • gain a better understanding of the pitfalls of past behaviour
  • gain new knowledge, skills and language to unlock their courage
  • and so much more…

Dare to Lead™ Certification

The Dare to Lead™ curriculum consists of 24 hours of training. The material is delivered by means of in-person facilitation, videos and exercises. It can be taught in-person or online. Session dates, times and duration can be co-created to best suit your organisation’s unique needs. Participants who complete the full curriculum will be certified as Dare to Lead™ Trained and will have the option to receive an electronic badge for their Linked-In profile.

  • “The content is really revolutionary. It takes real effort and change in thinking to apply. But I have been able to improve the manner in which I conduct myself.”
  • “I have truly valued the principles learned in Dare to Lead and have implemented these since having attended the course. I can see the benefits in the trust my team now has in me as their leader from a professional and personal point of view.”
  • “This course has been so enlightening and the change it has meant to me – especially personally – has been challenging but very insightful…”
  • “After having gone through all three days of the course, I will admit after day one I was emotionally shut down. However, by day 2 and now day 3, coming back full circle, I would not change how this course was done.”
  • “It should never stop and be ongoing – it is that good – one needs continued reminders and check-in’s, loved, loved, loved it, thank you for the honour and privilege, and to Dr Nadine Mayers for bringing it to South Africa!!!”
